# Creating Segments

Segments are customizable cohorts of high-intent accounts/developers/buyers, built using specific filters or attributes. They help you pinpoint where accounts/developers/buyers are in the buying journey, assess intent signals based on developer activity, and take targeted actions. With Segments, you can prioritize outreach and focus on the most promising opportunities, driving better conversion outcomes.

#### **Creating a Segment**

**Step 1:** Click on **Segments** in the left navigation panel&#x20;

{% hint style="info" %}
**Resource:** Explore our comprehensive [Basic & Advanced Segments Guide](/segments/basic-and-advanced-segments.md) to understand how to create targeted lists using **simple** or **complex filters**. Learn key differences, best practices, and discover when to leverage **Basic Segments** for quick results or **Advanced Segments** for multi-layered, precise targeting.
{% endhint %}

**Step 4:** Select the type of segment - Accounts, Developers or Buyers and click on Next

**Step 6:** Add a Tag Name and Tag Description. Tags in Reo.Dev enable you to quickly filter and prioritize accounts based on the specific criterias as defined in the segment.&#x20;

**Step 7:** Click on **Add filter**

You can apply two main conditional operators to refine your results.

{% hint style="info" %}
**AND:** This operator will allow you to create AND condition between two different attributes. For example, create a segment with two different attributes - Activity type \[Fork] and Revenue \[$0 - $1M] and then select Match All. This will display all accounts where developers have forked **AND** fall within the specified revenue range.
{% endhint %}

{% hint style="info" %}
**OR**: This operator will allow you to create OR conditions between two different attributes. For example, create a segment with two different attributes - Activity type \[Fork] and Revenue \[$0 - $1M] and then select Match Any. This will display all accounts where developers have forked **OR** fall within the specified revenue range.
{% endhint %}

Once you've added the filters, you can see the number of accounts matching this criteria.&#x20;

You can also choose to **set this segment as a default segment** by clicking on the 'Set this ad Default Segment' checkbox. This ensures that every time you land on the Accounts, Developers, or Buyers dashboard, you’ll instantly see the accounts/developers/buyers from that default segment.

**Step 8:** After adding the filters, click on **Save and Exit**

<figure><img src="/files/kdK3apWQQyiEbOOcplLN" alt=""><figcaption></figcaption></figure>

You can view the segment that you created under the **My** **segments** on the Segments page

Once you’ve created a segment, you can take several actions on it—like enabling alerts, syncing it to your CRM, sharing it with your team, and more.
